Also joining the celebration were Owen Wilson, Brad Paisley, Emily Mortimer, John Ratzenberger, Patton Oswalt, Don Rickles, Randy Newman and Cheech Marin.
Key Disney and Pixar executives in attendance included Studio Chairman Rich Ross, Studio President Alan Bergman, Production President Sean Bailey, Disney and Pixar Animation Studios President Ed Catmull, Pixar General Manager Jim Morris, among many other prestigious guests.
The ceremony for the 2,453th Star took place at 6834 Hollywood Boulevard in front of the El Capitan Theatre with Guest speaker actress Bonnie Hunt ? who starred as Sally in Cars and Cars 2.
Lasseter made his feature directorial debut in 1995 with Toy Story; the first-ever-feature-length computer animated film and, since then, has gone on to direct A Bug's Life, Toy Story 2 and Cars. He returned to the driver's seat this year, directing Cars 2.

It's not the norm for a Pixar film to get a lot of flack from the press, or for it to rank so lowly when it comes to reviews (38 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes). But Cars 2 director John Lasseter says the sequel wasn't just about selling a bunch of new toys.
"I reached deep into myself and saw what this film was about and I think it's clear that audiences have responded. It's a very, very special film to me," he told The Hollywood Reporter.
Some have claimed that Pixar was forced to produce the sequel by its owners at Disney to create new merchandising for the franchise. "It's not true. It's people who don't know the facts, rushing to judge," Lasseter said.
"I recognise my place in the Walt Disney Company, but my job, my focus, my deepest desire is to entertain people by making great movies, and we did that with Cars 2."
The box office take backs up his comments, with Cars 2 making $551m worldwide - 20 per cent more than the first film.
"I make movies for that little boy who loves the characters so much that he wants to pack his clothes in a Lightning McQueen suitcase," Lasseter added.
Your not helping that argument about merchandising there, John. Source: www.totalfilm.com
A funky, old-school viral video promoting Cars 2 (in a very roundabout way) has been unveiled online.
Pixar took advantage of this weekend's WonderCon in San Francisco by parking a car outside the Moscone Centre with a Twitter address emblazoned on the vehicle's back window.
That @ChromeLeaks account takes Tweeters to a viral website called Cars-n-Deals. com, which contains a funny, fake advert for the Cars N' Deals of Emeryville.
The ad was directed by Chris Cantwell, who also helmed the fake Lots-o-Huggin bear ad for Toy Story 3 last year.
Check it out below...
Could there be clever little hints at what we should expect from Cars 2 in there? The invisible spy, the car camera and the recording device all seem to be cryptic clues.

Cars 2 will be racing into cinemas next June, and Pixar have just released the very first, very teaser-y teaser for the auto-sequel. Upping the action quotient after the more subdued first Cars, this sequel sees Mater and McQueen (i. e. the only characters you really remember from the original) heading off on a Race of Champions world tour.
