It was fellow Jackass star Bam Margera's mother April Margera who confirmed Dunn's death.
The crash occurred on Route 322 and New Street, Pennsylvania, where the car allegedly hit a tree and burst into flames. Another unidentified passenger was also killed.
Jackass co-stars and close friends have been expressing their devastation over Twitter. Johnny Knoxville tweeted: "Today I lost my brother Ryan Dunn."
"My heart goes out to his family and his beloved Angie. RIP Ryan, I love you buddy."
