The movie was set to be Mel Gibson's definitive comeback performance, before his phone-rant antics shoved it into release limbo. The Beaver is now looking at a spring 2011 release, and you can check out the trailer below (that's the new poster above, too). There are some pretty strong credentials here: it's based on a Black List script, it's directed by Jodie Foster (who also co-stars), and Anton Yelchin (Star Trek) and Jennifer Lawrence (Winter's Bone) fill out the 'young and hip' quotient. Mel Gibson isn't everybody's favourite person right now, and it seems the guys behind his new film The Beaver sort of know it. Want proof? Just look at the first official poster for the Jodie Foster-directed film, which features Gibson all-but obscured by a hella scary-looking puppet. Yes, yes, that's the whole point, what with the film following a man who decides to hide behind a ratty old puppet. But, still, we're pretty sure he'd be a bit more front and centre if it wasn't for his recent troubles. Check out the image below...
