Taking place over the course of 12 years, the story starts in 1999 where two boys growing up in the same poor area of Hackney take on different paths in life. The story is told through eyes of Azad, a poor young Indian boy who dreams of becoming a Film maker one day. Azad is too fragile and too scared to get involved in any crime or violence, and also to clever to be content with his underpaid job. From a young age he discovers he can see reality with a different eye: the eye of an artist. His story narrates the violence and police corruption surrounding London Town and the rise of one of the areas most notorious criminals Felix The Cat. As Felix The Cat and his Gang wage war on the streets Azad's only way out of this violent life is to expose its brutality this world through his film. Along the way the lives of other people are put into perspective as their stories intersect with the events that take place. Through Azad's prospective of life, we understand the humanity of a world condemned to endless violence.
