Rhys Wakefield was born in Cairns, Queensland on 20 November 1988. He had some minor roles in a few shows, but his big break came when he won the role of Lucas Holden in "Home and Away" (1989) in August 2005. He plays the son of Tony (Jon Sivewright) and brother of Jack (Paul O'Brien). He had never met his "Father and Brother", so they all went to dinner to get to know each other before starting on the show. He now resides with his family in Sydney. Is the 2nd youngest member of Home and Away (youngest is 15 year-old Indiana Evans, who plays his girlfriend Matilda).
