Kelly Asbury directed the Oscar-nominated films "Shrek 2" (2004) and "Spirit-Stallion of the Cimarron" (2002). Over his 25-year career, Asbury's has served as an artist on many animated films including "Shrek" (2001), "Toy Story" (1995), "Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas" (1993), "Beauty and the Beast" (1991) and "The Little Mermaid" (1989).
Asbury wrote the non-fiction book "Dummy Days" (2003). He has also written and illustrated several published children's picture books.
As of April 2008, Kelly Asbury was living in London, England while directing a new animated film called "Gnomeo and Juliet" (Release date TBD).
Belle is a girl who is dissatisfied with life in a small provincial French town, constantly trying to fend off the misplaced "affections" of conceited Gaston. The Beast is a prince who was placed under a spell because he could not love. A wrong turn taken by Maurice, Belle's father, causes the two to meet.
