Born in Egypt, moved to the States in 1990 to study anthropology. After taking classes in photography Hesham changed his major to Filmmaking. He attended film school, Columbia College/Chicago and Graduated in 1996. He worked at local TV stations in Chicago. In 1997, he Co-Produced the Documentary, Saving the Sphinx (1998) (TV), for the Learning Channel.
In 1999, he moved to Los Angeles where he worked as a freelance editor.
In 2002, he wrote and directed the short Film, The Interrogation (2002/I), which was winner of Best Creative Short film in New York Film Festival and best Music Score in California Film Festival.
In 2003, he co-wrote (with Dick Grunert) and directed the short film, T for Terrorist (2003), winner of Best Short Film in both Boston and San Francisco Film Festivals.
In 2007, Hesham Co-Wrote and directed his First feature: _AmericanEast (2007)_.
In 2009, Hesham Wrote Cairo Exit. Shooting of the Film started April 2010.
