Paul was born in Liverpool, Merseyside, in 1979. His father, Allan A Fielding, a Company Director/Actor and his mother, Norma Fielding. His sister Sara-Jane Fielding, born October 1977. His brother Timothy Fielding, born May 1981, is a film Director/Writer/Producer.
He attended Kingswood School, Southport, Merseyside. He studied for a degree in History at Edge Hill College University, Ormskirk, Lancashire and a MA in European Studies and Politics at Liverpool John Moores University.
