This Christmas, primary school teacher Paul Maddens is being charged with the biggest challenge of his life - mounting the school's musical version of the Nativity. Amidst power cuts, strikes and boot-boy aggro on the football terraces, restless Joe McCain, is bored with the flatline tedium of a life thats going nowhere.
