Denise Channing

Date of Birth:

27 October 1956

Mini Biography:

Denise Channing spent much of her young life around the Hollywood media scene in various forms, including band management, talent scouting, song writing, writing stories and articles and generally socialising with people involved in the entertainment industry. But despite her attraction to media, she never had a desire to perform.

She found more satisfaction in organising events, publicist work and stage management. But Los Angeles could not hold her forever, her real home was in England. Denise returned to England permanently in 1993. She spent several years quietly writing and putting her administrative skills to good use, until the acquisition of the screenplay for Dance of the Goblins convinced her that her combination of talents was ideally suited to film production.

She registered the company Goblin Films Limited on 30th September, 2005. It was named for the series that was the inspiration for its formulation. She quickly displayed a particular talent for bringing the right people together to get the best possibly quality films made at minimal cost, and devoted herself to developing the British film industry as a personal cause, partly because she was dissatisfied with the quality of the films that were being churned out by the big studio corporate machine.

After a lifetime of meeting talented people who often found studio executives inaccessible, Denise resolved to develop new talent as well as bringing known actors who hadn't been lost to the glamour of show business into the 'Goblin Circle', as those involved with the Goblin books and films have become known. Her devotion to promoting the artists and performers involved with the projects has become her full time avocation, just as production for Dance of the Goblins and development of the other slated projects for Goblin Films is her full time obsession.

Movie Synopsis:

Many scientists believe that about every 200,000 years, a magnetic pole shift flips the axis of the earth, resulting in sudden and devastating climate change and planet-wide devastation. We are overdue. Five generations after the next 'Turning', the descendants of the few surviving humans carve out a medieval-like existence in the rubble of a ruined city of London. Meanwhile, the goblins live a shamanic, anarchic lifestyle and stay unseen by humans for their own survival. Until one day a human wanders into one of the forgotten underground stations where he is captured and drugged with a mushroom potion that causes memory loss, then expelled. A search party happens to see one of the goblins, and the humans try to dig out the 'demons'. A goblin woman is taken captive but escapes, and it is up to the leader of the humans, Count Anton, to find her and return her to her people. Count Anton's secret friendship with Haghuf, a respected elder among the goblins, as well as his love for their world is compromised as war between humans and goblins becomes unavoidable. It is a war the humans cannot possibly win. Divided loyalties, survival, and growing love for the goblin woman whose world he can never really be a part of challenge Count Anton to find a way to save his own people from their own folly, and from the warrior goblins who have barred his entrance into their world.
