A decade after his heroic defeat of the monstrous Kraken, Perseus-the demigod son of Zeus-is attempting to live a quieter life as a village fisherman and the sole parent to his 10-year old son, Helius. Meanwhile, a struggle for supremacy rages between the gods and the Titans. Dangerously weakened by humanity's lack of devotion, the gods are losing control of the imprisoned Titans and their ferocious leader, Kronos, father of the long-ruling brothers Zeus, Hades and Poseidon. The triumvirate had overthrown their powerful father long ago, leaving him to rot in the gloomy abyss of Tartarus, a dungeon that lies deep within the cavernous underworld. Perseus cannot ignore his true calling when Hades, along with Zeus' godly son, Ares (Edgar Ramrez), switch loyalty and make a deal with Kronos to capture Zeus. The Titans' strength grows stronger as Zeus' remaining godly powers are siphoned, and hell is unleashed on earth. Enlisting the help of the warrior Queen Andromeda (Rosamund Pike), Poseidon's demigod son, Argenor (Toby Kebbell), and fallen god Hephaestus (Bill Nighy), Perseus bravely embarks on a treacherous quest into the underworld to rescue Zeus, overthrow the Titans and save mankind.

Nighy will take on the role of Hephaestus, the son of Zeus and Hera and the god of blacksmiths, fire and volcanoes.
Meanwhile, Huston will reprise his role as Poseidon ? and will no doubt be gifted more screentime this time around after a blink-and-miss-him look in the first Clash.
A Warner Bros press release confirmed the casting, while also seemingly announcing that Gemma Arterton would not be returning for the follow-up ? her name was conspicuously absent from the statement.
What we do have, though, is a lengthy official plot synopsis for the movie. Check it out below...

Edgar Ramirez is in negotiations to play Ares, the god of war, in the upcoming mythological sequel Wrath of the Titans, according to The Wrap.
Ramirez has been seen in the likes of The Bourne Ultimatum, Domino, and Vantage Point, and he grabbed great notices for his role as Carlos the Jackal in the recent movie/miniseries.
It's not yet known if Ramirez' Ares will be an enemy or an assistant to Sam Worthington's Perseus, but expect the square-jawed Venezuelan to have an action-heavy role.
The Wrap are also reporting that Toby Kebbell is on the verge of signing on to play Agenor in the sequel. Kebbell impressed greatly in Dead Man's Shoes, and has since appeared in RocknRolla, Prince of Persia and The Sorcerer's Apprentice.
There's also rumours suggesting that Clemence Poesy has made it onto the shortlist to play Princess Andromeda in the movie, with Hayley Atwell, Janet Montgomery, Dominique McElligott and Georgina Haig also under consideration.
Perhaps most tantalising of all is the news that Bill Nighy is being sought to play Hephaestus, son of Zeus and god of technology, metals and more, but that's strictly rumour at this point.

Clash Of The Titans earned itself a bad rep this year thanks to its lacklustre 3D conversion and potholed story, but star Sam Worthington has promised that the sequel will be an improvement. Talking with Moviefone this weekend, the Aussie native acknowledged that Clash had its shortcomings. But he fully intends to rectify those with sequel Wrath Of The Titans."I just think we can improve on it," he says. "I think the first one, we kind of let down some people. And yeah, I totally agree. The only point of doing a sequel is either the audience demands it or you believe you can better the first one."What we're setting out to do with this one ? the writers and the director and myself ? is improve."Worthington goes on to add that he thinks he "can act fucking better, to be honest?" Meanwhile, it seems he's been trawling the net to find out just what went wrong in the eyes of moviegoers."[I'll] take all the notes from people that I have been reading about on the 'net and give them a movie they fucking want," he says. "This one I want to kind of try to satisfy a lot more people."

Liam Neeson has talked for the first time about Wrath Of The Titans, the sequel to this year's Clash Of The Titans, confirming that he'll be reprising the role of Zeus.
"I've only read half of the script and there is still some work being done - they're on script 10 - but I think it's going to be some kick-ass stuff and a very human story to it," he told the Belfast Telegraph.
Details of the film's plot, which will be directed by Battle: Los Angeles' Jonathan Liebesman, are being kept under wraps, but Neeson did confirm a start date.
"We will start next March," he says. "I'm very much looking forward to it. It's a whole revamping, you know."
The actor played coy when it came to the 3D issue, though. The first Clash came under fire for its lacklustre post-conversion 3D. So how will Wrath approach the medium? "I don't know the answer to that." Fair dos. Source: www.totalfilm.com
James Cameron might be busy slagging off the first one, but Sam Worthington doesn't care. "It got roasted but it made half a billion dollars, mate. And when we do the second one we can rectify the mistakes of the first," Worthington told Total Film. And one of those mistakes? Perseus' haircut, apparently. "I want to change Perseus. For a start, don't have a fucking shaved head. This time I'm going to have ringlets..." We're praying to Zeus that he's not joking. Source: www.totalfilm.com
