A film about the love affair between Jamaican and British Youth culture told through the prism of one the most iconic record labels in history, Trojan Records. Combining archive footage, interview and drama - Rudeboy tells the story of Trojan Records by placing it at the heart of a cultural revolution that unfolded in the council estates and dancefloors of late 60's and early 70' Britain and how that period of immigration and innovation transformed popular music and culture. Released in 1974, "Changin' Times" was a stunning album of songs recorded in extraordinary circumstances - the first ever commercial album recorded inside an American prison by an inmate. It's creator was a musical prodigy, Ike White, who was jailed for life at the age of 19 for murder. With never-before-seen archive, the film charts Ike's journey out from prison into industry adulation and life as a free man, eventually leading to his reinvention as a performer for hire called David Maestro.
