He decides to skip school and begins a downward spiral of lies and theft. His parents are at their wits' end, and after he's stopped by the police, they decide the best thing would be to let Antoine face the consequences. He's sent to a juvenile detention facility where he doesn't do much better. He does manage to escape however.

Movie Synopsis:

This compelling, playful collage film constantly ignores and challenges the rules of what film should be. Fox Maxy is fearless and averse to anything. He captures the moment in which he lives in raw, sometimes sentimental situations, and take the freedom to speak up. Time and again, activism squeezes itself forward through the background, which gives the entire film an inescapable political layer. -IFFR.

Taking us through Bangarra's birth and spectacular growth, the film recognises Bangarra's founders and tells the story of how three young Aboriginal brothers - Stephen, David and Russell Page - turned the newly born dance group into a First Nations cultural powerhouse. Through the eyes of the brothers and company alumni, Firestarter explores the loss and reclaiming of culture, the burden of intergenerational trauma, and - crucially - the power of art as a messenger for social change and healing.
